Encampments

The Encampment Outreach Support Team engages vulnerable Edmontonians where they are, both physically and in their journey. The team visits encampments in Edmonton to meet with individuals who are sleeping rough and offer them supports and services while also making an effort to meet their basic needs with supplies such as food, clothing, and hygiene supplies.

The team works to establish trust with participants in order to provide a safe space for them to develop the skills necessary for self-wellness and transitioning into a safer life style. We also support people who are sleeping on the streets of Edmonton by providing them with follow up supports that can include obtaining identification, housing, income, medical support, and other necessities.

The Encampment Outreach Support Team also runs a drop in style Resource Café every Thursday to provide individuals with a safe place to seek services, access supports and enjoy a snack and cup of coffee with the team. This Resource Café allows for consistent office hours where staff is always available to provide support. This consistency helps to foster trust and allows for stability for those who are doing their best to survive on city streets.
